Dry frizzy wavy hair?

Looking for a product that will calm my hair.

I am currently growing it to restyle it

its approx 2 1/2 inches long.

I am using a wet look gel which makes it heavy and drop down but when it has dried it has a mind of its own and sticks up everywhere like worzel.

Any suggestions even for a greasy look so the hair will just sit down into a style?

Actually the best is the oldest way to do that, use Alberto VO 5 hairdressing, is one way, Brylcreem is another and or perhaps Wildroot hair cream.
