Dry, breaking, split end hair help?

The cold/dry air is killing my hair. Is there a home hot oil a/o leave in over nite conditioner I can use? I have babyfine hair and with blow dryer %26amp; products it looks like crap! Help, I don't have the money for a full beauty treatment in a salon right now.

wet your hair and when its damp put olive oil on the ends.

then wash it out in the morning. shampoo the scalp / condiction the ends. it should make it alot softer ^.^ but you'll have to sleep with a towel around your hair so you dont get it on your pellow ^.^

you can get a deep condictioning treatment from a store too ^_^

Olive oil or sweet oil. probably anycoating but peanut oil, it catches fire too easily.

before you use the blow dryer or anything else, put a drop of oil on your fingers, ,milk it thru the ends. that'll protect it from the damage the dryer does. get a trim every once %26amp; a while too. it's good for it %26amp; keeps it healthy looking.........

I've heard that horse hair conditioners are good. They even sell them at some beauty supply stores.

I like the Nutrogena triple conditioner - it comes in a yellow tube.

If you don't want to put olive oil directly on your hair, you can buy a cream with olive oil. Sunsilk is a good one. they have all sorts of kinds. I'm sure they'll have olive oill

Sadly, there is no miracle cure for split ends; the only way to get rid of them is to cut them off. Any product that claims to reduce split ends actually just temporarily smoothes the cuticle down, reducing the LOOK of split ends. After you've cut off your split ends, there are several things you can do to prevent them from returning:

- Reduce the frequency in which you heat style your hair

- When you do heat style, use a protective heat product

- Use hot oil treatments once a week (VO5 makes great ones)

- Use a leave-in conditioner after every time you wash your hair

- Avoid using products with alcohol in them, as this is drying to your hair

- Avoid using wax-based conditioners such as Pantene and Herbal Essences; the wax eventually builds up and penetrates the hair shaft, causing breakage

- Try mashing an avocado with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, coat your hair with the mixture, wrap your hair in plastic wrap, and let it sit for at least an hour before rinsing it out

- You can also try applying conditioner (remember to use non wax-based!) to your hair, but instead of rinsing it out, wrap your hair in plastic wrap and blow dry your head for several minutes, THEN rinse it

- Only use wide-toothed combs to detangle your hair when it is wet

- Never expose your wet hair to cold air!

- Use a good clarifying shampoo frequently to rid your hair of any product build-up

- Trim your ends every 2-3 months
