I have dry, puffy hair too.

I use Dove shampoos and conditioners. When you're in the shower and have conditioner in your hair, comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb before rinsing it out. That'll make your hair more manageable. After you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair and then wait for a while, til maybe it's about half dry. Then put some products in, that heat down stuff is probably great. I use Garnier Fructise hair serum but whatever floats your boat. When you get to that point, blow dry your hair ... I use a large, flat brush. To make your hair totally SMOOTH you're going to need to use a flat iron, just run the flat iron from the roots to the tips in small sections of hair, maybe an inch or two wide.

To get the "effortless" look I generally use a waving iron afterward (I usually do my hair at night) and then go to sleep. When I wake up, my hair is perfectly tousled and it doesn't look like I'm trying too hard even though I so am. Also, I'd recommend if you have dry, puffy hair to not wash your hair every day. Maybe every few days. Good luck.

Still, really try biolage smoothing serum 13.95 for a bottle that lasts a long time and a flat iron (get a good one a chi or equivalent) Report It

the reason it is dry and pouffy and frizzy is because it needs moisture. lush (UK) do really good products. If you buy a moisturising shampoo and moisturising conditioner that should help.

When you wash it, leave a little conditioner in your hair to weigh it down a little, make it SUPER soft and smooth and help overall health- especially seeing as you striaghten it, the onditioner will help prevent heat damage and frizz.

Try some leave in conditioner - I like Neutrogena. In a pinch you can rub a little hand cream on your hands and smooth it over your hair. It will help tame it. Don't use too much or it will flatten your hair.

Use a little pomade or Paul Mitchell's hair wax.

After you've dryed %26amp; styled your hair, put a thin layer of wax in your palms. Add a trickle of warm water. Rub together. Gently smooth over the outer layers of hair, not down to the roots.

Your hair will be more compact, have a nice shine, and stay put longer.

I have the same hair! The only thing that will calm it down is a large barrel curling iron (2 IN) or a straightening iron. If it gets humid out, forget it... my hair starts poofing again.

I do not like my hair to feel greasy and weighed down with product. I prefer to have soft hair that looks natural and smooth so I can run my fingers through it.

What I use is just regular hair mousse when my hair is wet, then blow dry it while I run a brush through it. After its dry I either use the straightening iron for a super straight look or pull it through a large curling iron and curling the ends under for a softer look. Its important to use some styling product so the straightener or curling iron can burn off the product instead of the moisture in your hair.

Good luck!
