NO! NO! NO! That's going to kill your dry damaged hair! No!
Relaxants are very strong chemicals!
What you should do is get a hot oil wrap at least once.
Then you should probably switch your shampoo and conditioner (I recommend Paul Mitchell's Hair Repair Treatment) with a less harsh kind that somewhere in it mentions hydration. While you are showering, after shampooing, towel dry your hair until most of the moisture is out and then apply the conditioner and let sit on for at least five minutes.
After at least two weeks, go to a salon and ask them about relaxing your hair and see if they would actually recommend you to wait a little while longer.
For now, if you have to straighten it, I'd recommend you use Paul Mitchell's Gloss drops or Straightworks. I'm sure most people will recommend you use Biolage but I find that their products tend to cause build-up!
Well good luck! I hope you're satisfied with your choice.

RELAXER WORK AND WILL REMOVE THE WAVE. BUT YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR, AND LET A PROFESSIONAL DO IT

I've never used them. But my sisters friend used one, she had the same hair type as you I think, and her hair melted off. Its now very short.
Don't use it, theres tons of other things you can do that WON'T ruin your hair.

I've never used any hair relaxants, but I've heard that they can do bad things for your hair, and it sounds like your hair is already suffering if it's dry and rather lifeless. I might recommend treating your hair to some Pantene shampoo %26amp; conditioning treatments, or an all-organic kind of shampoo %26amp; conditioner, or some other sort of high-end shampoo/conditioning treatment (like what you can find on http://www.kerastase-usa.com) before pursuing any kind of relaxants. With that said, I still highly recommend going to a professional to have your hair checked out before pursuing any chemical hair straightening treatments.
Since I have not actually ever used one of these treatments, I cannot give you any good suggestions on this matter. However, the simple blow-drying method, while is not permanent, is the safest. Brands of hair straighteners that I've heard good things about are Phyto, Alterna, and Frederic Fekkai.
Good luck! Let me know how it all turns out!
